A good friend of mine has graciously allowed me to “help” him work on his 1969 Dodge Charger, and so I’ve spent a few weekends over at his place pulling parts off and assessing the state of things. The word help was in quotations above because I use the term very.. loosely. My friend has been working on cars for quite a while, and I have next to no experience beyond changing the oil and rotating tires, so it’s been quite the learning experience for me. Check out all the gory details here.

This weekend we made a roadtrip out to the Portland Rod & Custom show to take a look at the product of other peoples hard work, perhaps as a bit of an inspiration to keep us going. Some of the cars there were absolutely stunning, and some were a bit.. interesting. Feel free to peruse the gallery to see more.

After we finished wandering around, for some reason it felt a bit treasonous to drive home in my little Mazda Protege.. now if only I had a garage, some metal working tools, and of course some talent for working on cars..
